Today is Saturday, November 15th … and that means it’s gameday!
Greeting folks. We are live here at Raymond James Stadium for the live blog! Kick-off is set for noon local time.
Make sure to click the hedeline link: “CLICK HERE FOR USF FOOTBALL LIVE BLOG.” That will open up the comments page where i’ll be continually posting updates, and you can post your discussions as well!
Quick note on the temperature here. The skies have become quite blue! When we got here this morning it was raining, but it has cleared up, and although it’s hot, it should be a great day for football.
Crowd is filling in, but I would be suprised if there were 30,000 or so here today.
We’ll be kicking-off shortly. Stay tuned and check out the comments for updates on the game.

THe Bulls took the ball down to the Rutgers 25 after a completion to Ben Williams, and a defensive holding call.
But again the offense sputtered, and was held.
Maikon Bonani attempted a 42-yard field goal … it missed wide left.
That’s twice USF has been inside the 30-yard line and have come away empty handed.
0-0 with 3:27 to go in the 1st quarter.
Stay tuned for a full 1st quarter write up.

Turnover Rutgers.
Teel threw into double-coverage and Carlton Williams with an interception.
USF ball on Rutgers 48 …

And the drive stalls … Grothe was sacked on 3rd and nine and the Bulls are forced to punt.
Both offenses are being able to move the ball a bit, but have been either held by a penalty or a sack.
Stats for Grothe: 5-6 for 25 yards in the air, and 5 rushed for 27 yards.
5:07 in the 1st quarter and Rutgers begin their drive at their own 32-yard line.

Okay drive update. 6:52 remaining in the 1st quarter …
USF began at the 18-yard line.
They now have 1st and 10 on the Rutgers 48-yard line.
Grothe has completed 5 of his first 6 passes today.

Good morning/afternoon JA
The crowd is about 30,000 I’d say. It was a late arriving crowd. It’s getting extremely hot down there on the field, i’m told.
It’s awfully comfortable here in the press box, though!

Just quick notes. Senior safety Louis Gachette made his first career start for the Bulls …
USF has gone shotgun, and 5-wide’s in four of their first five plays.
The penalty woe’s seem to continue. USF has been called already for illegal blocing, offsides, and well there was a turnover as well with Love’s fumble …

how’s the crowd…it’s hard to tell on tv

OKay so Rutgers was able to move the ball down-field into USF territory. They had the ball at the USF 45 with first and ten, but a rush of no gain, a sack by Terrell McClain, and an incomplete forced the Scarlet Knights to punt.
USF’s ball at their own 18 with 10:08 to play in the 1st quarter … 0-0, Obviously!
November 15, 2008 at 12:13 pm
1st play for Rutgers … QB Mike Teel complete to WR Kenny Britt, get used to that today … possibly …
November 15, 2008 at 12:12 pm
On 1st and 21 USF ran a screen pass to the left out to AJ Love, but Love fumbled the ball. Rutgers’ Kevin Malast caused the fumble.
The play was reviewed, but it was obvious.
Rutgers ball now at their own 33.
November 15, 2008 at 12:10 pm
The Bulls are driving early, and have the ball in Rutgers’ red-zone …
It’s 1st and long from the 26-yard line…
November 15, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Okay Rutgers to kick-off and USF to receive heading from our left to right.
USF in their all green get-ups, while the Scarlett Knights are in all white.
And the opening kick-off rolls out of bounds …
November 15, 2008 at 12:03 pm
Well folks, BBQ pork was the delicacy this morning. For the Bulls it will be the Scarlet Knights …
The teams have taken the field, and there are parachuter’s landing at the 50-yard line …
It’s football time folks. I’ll keep you updated throughout the game on what’s going on right here on the comments box!
