USF has fired coach Jim Leavitt — the program’s only coach — after nearly a month of investigations, according to reports from Fanhouse.com and ESPN.com.

The University is scheduled to make an official announcement Friday at noon. USF officials and Leavitt did not return phone calls Friday morning from The Oracle.

Leavitt is accused of striking walk-on Joel Miller in the face during halftime of the Louisville game on Nov. 21., which spawned the investigation by USF. Leavitt has denied these accusations.

Leavitt  95-57 in his 13-year career at USF.
