For his efforts in the last two games, Jones was named the Big East conference Player of the Week after following up a 21-point performance against Cincinnati with a career-high 46 points in USF’s dramatic 109-105 overtime win at Providence Saturday night.

The 46 points set a USF single game record and were just two off the Big East record for a single game.

Jones also had 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and three steals, and scored 9 of USF’s 14 points in overtime on Saturday.

Jones is now only second to Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody in the Big East at 21.0 points per game this season and has now scored 20 or more points in 6 straight games.

To put the Jones’ historic night and USF’s win in perspective, the ESPNU crew left a few nice tidbits on Jones and USF during its postgame recap of Saturday’s game.

I still can’t get enough of that game and performance by Jones.  I wish I Tivo’d it but I forgot to.
