USF forward Augustus Gilchrist has been sidelined since early December with a high ankle sprain, but USF coach Stan Heath said Tuesday Gilchrist could play when the Bulls play at Georgetown next Tuesday.

“No doctors told me this, but I have Georgetown may be the ‘X’ on the calendar that has a real good chance of him playing,” Heath said.

Gilchrist is second on the team with 18.8 points per game this year and led USF in scoring before he got hurt.

“We’re missing one valuable piece right now,” Heath said.  “If we can just hang in there until we get that piece back…this team can win games, it just has to have its full compliment of players.”
