The Bulls shot just 4-for-20 from three-point range and couldn’t get a much-needed win Saturday night at Marquette, losing 63-52 and taking a hit as far as their NCAA tournament hopes are concerned.

USF (15-9, 5-7) now falls to tenth in the Big East standings and two games behind Marquette, a team they could’ve jumped in the standings had they won.

USF, just one game behind Cincinnati in the conference standings, play the Bearcats at home Tuesday.

Sophomore forward Augustus Gilchrist scored 7 points on 3-of-6 shooting in 23 minutes in his first game since Dec. 2 after sitting out with an ankle injury.

Junior guard Dominique Jones, the Big East’s third-leading scorer at 21.9 points per game coming in, scored 16 points, but was just 6-of-21 from the floor and 1-of-7 from three-point range.

The Bulls were 0-for-10 from three-point range in the second half.
