USF freshman pitcher Ray Delphey gave up just two earned runs and had 8 strikeouts in his first collegiate start, but the Bulls offense didn’t get anything going in a 9-1 loss at Florida in the second game of a three-game season-opening series.

Florida freshman Brian Johnson didn’t give up an earned run in 5.2 innings and the Gators scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth.

The Bulls will try to avoid a sweep when they send 6’8″ lefthander Andrew Barbosa to the hill Sunday at noon.
