USF’s NCAA Tournament hopes took a big hit after a 74-58 loss at home to St. Johns’ Saturday afternoon.

St. Johns (15-11, 5-9), who came into the game third from the bottom in the conference standings, has won three of its last four games.

Junior Dominique Jones and senior Mike Mercer each had 17 points, though the Bulls shot just 31 percent from three-point range.  The Red Storm shot 58 percent from the field.

USF falls to 16-10 overall and 6-8 in the conference.
