As expected, former USF defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was picked mid-first round in the NFL draft, taken with the 15th overall pick by the New York Giants and becoming USF’s highest draft pick ever.

Pierre-Paul, who had 6.5 sacks with USF last season, was the first defensive end taken in the draft.  Most draft experts had Pierre-Paul anywhere from the late top ten range to late teens.

USF expects several more draft picks, with safety Nate Allen expected to go in the second round.
